I have curly, short pepper and salt colored hair. For my age 54, I feel the need to appear more well groomed? My hair has begun falling too at a rapid pace. I need advice urgently.I have very curly short hair and can do nothing to make it look well groomed. Need help?
Here's some great tips to deal with curly hair:
1) Fall in love with your conditioner - Some stylists suggest not using shampoo at all. This is because many shampoos have alcohols that dry your hair and strip it from its natural oils. You can forgo the shampoo and just wash with conditioner, which will be gentler on your hair. You may experience some oiliness for the first couple of weeks, but that鈥檚 just your hair adjusting to its new routine.
OrJust be good friends with your conditioner - If you can鈥檛 bear breaking up with your shampoo, then pick a shampoo that is made specifically for curly hair. Bumble and Bumble and Rusk are two great brands made for curly hair, or if on a budget, try L鈥橭r茅al or John Frieda. Even better: Avocado is great for conditioning hair. Mix it with a spoonful of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and let it sit for a half an hour. You should try to deep condition your hair once a week.
2) Invest in quality styling tools - Brushes can tear hair, so you should stick to combs. If you must use heat styling products, invest in quality products made of 100% ceramic. For blowdryers, try Conair. For flat irons, try Corioliss, which you can find on Amazon.com. They鈥檙e pricy, but it鈥檚 a great investment.
3) Get regular trims - Curly hair has low porosity, which means that it doesn鈥檛 absorb as much water, and it's dryer. Dry hair means split ends and breakage, so you should be consistent about getting a trim every six to eight weeks. Your hair needs this to stay healthy and to avoid worse splitting.
Approach with Caution - If your hair is prone to tangling, try conditioning your hair and combing out the tangles with a wide-tooth comb while in the shower. Also, if you must pull hair back, don鈥檛 tie hair back while it鈥檚 still wet or use rubber bands, which can snag or pull hair.
Do not use any hair dye as it dries out the hair and makes it harder to deal with.
Good luck!I have very curly short hair and can do nothing to make it look well groomed. Need help?
The last thing to do would be to straighten your hair since it would damage it even more. A very good trick is to use mousse to give it some volume and shape. The mousse will also control the curls making them look more intentional rather than just frizzy. It's also a great idea to deep condition your hair once in a while especially since grey hair tends to be a little more unruly than other hair.
try sunsilk captivating curls gel %26amp; cream twist. put it on when your hair is damp and then let air dry. you can also try anti-frizz serums, but the good ones are kind of expensive. You can buy the sunsilk product at target. CVS also has tons of products for hair. although I think mousse is great....it makes my hair very crunchy. That is why the sunsilk product is wonderful because it does not leave your hair crunchy like other products!
You could also try some texturizer or a wax and rub it through,it should calm it down.
Sometimes it can look better a bit longer,so that it can be pinned.
straghtin your hair and color it black!
