How many times a week should you bathe a shih-tzu with short hair?

The kennel where I work, we bathe the dogs weekly and use a conditioning spray with daily brushing. We also add Flax Oil to their food in the morning (1/4 tsp for 10lb dog) to prevent dry skin. Of course they are all high maintenance groom and show dogs.

My personal dogs, I bathe once or twice a month. You'll be able to feel when your dog's hair starts getting dirty. I use a lot of the wipes between baths, but when the hair starts getting stiff or grimy feeling, it's time for a bath. How many times a week should you bathe a shih-tzu with short hair?
You really don't need to bathe a dog very often. a bathe my fluffy westie about once every 3-6 months as she doesn't spend much time outside so doesn't get really dirt or anything. my smooth-haired bull breed mix never gets bathed as he is always clean and never smells even though he spends a lot of time outside. How many times a week should you bathe a shih-tzu with short hair?
Really depends on how dirty they get... but personally I would say 1-2 tmes a month. Bathing dogs too often can rid their skin of its natural oils and in turn cause irritation. If you are really concerned about its hair smelling nice, you can buy special leave in conditioners and powders for dogs.

:)
1-2 times a month.

washing your dog to much would cause them to have dry skin.

Dry skin and flakes would appear.

Good luck!
you should really only wash your dog 2-3 times a month (TOPS) otherwise it could become more susceptible to dry skin, or other skin issues
Dogs don't need to be bathed weekly. My dogs are bathed everytime I take them to the groomer (2-3 months) unless they roll in something stinky.
i.m curious why does your dog need bathed this much.

does it get that dirty?

or do you just not like the smell of dog?
