What type of cats don't grow very big and have short hair?

I'm getting a cat but i want a small one with short hair, what breeds of cats fit those characteristics? give pics for me to look at please thnx help plzWhat type of cats don't grow very big and have short hair?
ok, so there are a number of cats that have short, or no hair. Now, as size goes, it really depends on a lot of things, so it's hard to say how big or small they'll get. One breed to stay away from though is a Maine Coon. They get massive.

I've attached a link with pictures of the cats, and here's a list of them:

Abyssinian

American Shorthair

American Wirehair

Bombay

British Shorthair

Burmese

Chartreux

Colorpoint Shorthair

Cornish Rex

Devon Rex

European Burmese

Egyptian Mau

Havana Brown

Japanese Bobtail

Korat

Manx

Ocicat

Oriental Shorthair

Russian Blue

Scottish Fold

Siamese

Singapura

Sphynx

rrm38 is correct that the Singapura is the smallest recognized breed of cat. VERY cute, also VERY rare.

While it is smart to read books %26amp; websites re: various breeds of cats. Pictures can be misleading, you cannot always tell size %26amp;/or color properly on a computer monitor.

After you have studied PERSONALITIES that sound like what you would like. Visit a few cat shows %26amp; see the cats in person. When you see one you like, (make sure the owner is not getting ready for a ring) ask about the cat... is it a kitten, full grown, temperament, grooming needs. Most of us love to talk about our breeds.
Of the recognized breeds, the Singapura is the smallest, and they're shorthair.

If you're adopting a mixed breed cat from a shelter or rescue group, there really isn't a way to predict what their size will be unless you adopt an adult.
The best thing you can do to find a cat like this is actually visiting the animal shelter. Animal shelters have adult cats of all sizes, large and small. By adopting an adult cat, you know it's finished growing and will stay the size it's at forever!
Try to find a DSH runt of the litter. They are in every way as much of a cat as their brothers and sisters except they are smaller (runt). One of my two rescued, spayed, females is a DSH/manx mix. She is the ';Alpha'; female of the two and reminds the other everyday.
Singapura cats are the smallest breed of cat.
