Well-kept long hair is the ultimate in femininity. It looks great as it flows across a woman's body, and it can be the ultimate in concealing and revealing lingerie if long enough. It's soft and silky and can smell wonderful. It shows a woman cares about her appearance, and in the right style (e.g., worn down) is a subtle sign of availability.
In many older cultures, particularly in Eastern Europe, young, single, and/or virgin women wore their hair long and free, and once they got married either wore it up all of the time or cut it short. Two great traditions were the Polish custom of cutting the bride's hair at the end of the wedding reception, and the custom in some Jewish sects to cut short the bride's hair the morning after the wedding. Remnants of these traditions may be deeply ingrained in our own culture.
Today, short hair is seen as more mature and sophisticated than long hair for married women, professional women, moms, etc. . Plus, it's easier to take care of than long hair. Personally, I think its mostly the women that want short hair after they're married and don't have to attract men anymore. Most men seem to prefer long hair. But if a guy isn't really into his wife's long hair some advantages of her cutting it off are that it will take her less time to care for, help avoid unwanted attention from other men, and not get in the way during intimate moments the way very long hair can.Why do men like women with long or short hair?
I love long hair and would never suggest a women/wife cut their hair after a baby nor do I know to many guys who would. It's mainly the women who decide to do that and then regret it later. I think it is very sexy to see a mom with very long hair. I would do everything possible to convince her to keep it long.
Hmm. Well, putting aside the broad generalization and zooming in on individuals who actually demonstrate that behavior...well, it could be alot of things. Perhaps it's a hard-wired biological thing. Long hair is considered by the subconscious mind to be attractive. Once married, perhaps jealousy takes over and doesn't want her to ';show off'; to other nearby. I doubt it's as simple as that, but definitely possible.
Or maybe it's just a fad. You see it enough times in married couples and your brain associates it with marriage, so that's what you strive to recreate in your own wedlock.
long hair, always
