Hiding it for the interview might or might not work, depending on how closely they look him over.





Better to be open about it, but have it clean, and well pulled back. If they think he's trying to hide it, then they'll think that he'll try to hide other things as well.





If they don't like it, they'll tell him that he can have the job but not with the ponytail. It depends on the job. They may want someone to look young and hip, and the ponytail may be an asset.





My son works in retail, he sells more when his hair is long and tied back then when it's short.
best bet is to just get it cut, they'll still be able to tell it's long, even if it's tucked into a shirt...if he were to somehow hide it, what happens after he gets hired? they'll find out he has long hair eventually, and if it's an issue with the job, they'll tell him to get it cut or they'll let him go
Umm...no...its not easy to hide your pony tail under your shirt. Even if he got the job, they would still find out sooner or later. He should probably either look for a different job where he could have the long hair or cut his hair.
