How do you get gum out of short-hair dog fur?

My friend has a teacup chihuahua that has gum stuck to her leg. Her fur is too short to cut it. She asked me if it would be safe to put Goo Gone on it, but I don't think it's a good idea. Any suggestions? Or do you think she'll eventually lick it off?How do you get gum out of short-hair dog fur?
As stange as it sounds, you can rub peanut butter into the gum and it will come away. You need to rub it in well. How do you get gum out of short-hair dog fur?
i used to work in a bar, we had new carpet put down on the floor. Within 1 day there was bubble/chewing gum all over the carpet. We used an aerosol can of gum remover which just freezes the gum and it breaks off because it's brittle. This is a commercial cleaning product (sorry don't know the exact name of it). It's a little like liquid nitrogen. I must say I didn't know the Peanut Butter trick.
goo gone is a chemical. why whould you put chemicals on a dog??? even if you wash it you will not get it all off, and the dog could lick the chemical and get sick.

do what the others said and try peanut butter. or a few drops of olive oil, ice usually works to get gum out of things, but not always. so the safest bet is the peanut butter. plus she will like to lick off any residue.
Dont think Im crazy. Put peanut butter on the gum,rub it around and them gently comb it out.If you have a flea comb that works best.No need to wash the peanut butter off, she'll enjoy licking whats left.

This honestly does work. : )
