How can i make my REALLY short hair flat or not stick out?

The short hair on my sides always stick out especially after a shower. How can i make it flat or stay down like a normal person without hair products or having to wear a beanie hat after shower? the hair is like 1/5 inch short.How can i make my REALLY short hair flat or not stick out?
Short hair will spike. If you want it to lay flat, you must grow it longer and comb it back and lay it down flat with gel. Very short hair will flatten out about as well as a porcupine.How can i make my REALLY short hair flat or not stick out?
You could try a heavy sticky gel. I would not recommend using a flat iron if there's heat involved or you'll get a nice burn on your scalp.
