yes, you wouldDoes short hair look more professional than long on guys?
It does really depend. Short is clean-cut and less distracting, but you don't want to sacrifice personality for a general professional look always. If it'll look good and you want a change go for it. But if its JUST for the job, think about if your hair really is holding you back in the business world. Whatever you chose, making sure you have good maintenance and self-confidence will be the professional difference.
If I was interviewing you, I would not base any judgment on the length of your hair, only how well kept it is. If your long curly hair is unruly I would suggest a tight braid for any job interviews, looking well kept is very important.
I'm not everyone though, and many people would see long hair as unprofessional, but it depends greatly on what line of work you're trying to get into.
Just make sure your hair looks nice, it is not all wild and unkept looking and you should be ok either way.
I worked for a large Human Resources organization and did hundreds of job interviews . . . yes, the short hair will be more impressive than long hair. Having said that, it depends what kind of employment you're going after. Some places longer hair would be more in, but most places you would do better keeping it short.
PS: Make sure your nails are clean and manicured (that is something most guys don't think about).
yes! yes! yes! short clean and tidy hair.
Corporate America is all about looks and presentation.
