Why do many people say that all short hair on women is very low mainentance compared to long hair?

I have had both lengths throughout my life, and I personally find long hair to be much less maintenance than short hair. Short hair (and medium shoulder length) is nothing but frustration, at least for me. Am I the only one who thinks that or is there someone else out there who agrees?Why do many people say that all short hair on women is very low mainentance compared to long hair?

Short hair requires more trims to maintain it, but it's easier to wash and style.

long hair is so much easier to do.
i agree. with long hair you can just let it do whatever it wants, you dont even have to style it if you dont want. but unless you want to look like a boy with a bad haircut, you HAVE to style short hair. unless you go with like, a buzz cut or something than long hair is usually less maintenance, lol.
Long hair takes a lot longer time to dry. However, you always have to do short hair, while you can get away with wearing long hair wet.
well short hair is easier to wash and brush, it has less knots because it is less hair. However short hair doesn't really look cute unless its styled, which takes more time than just throwing long hair up in a pony tail or messy bun. So yes i do agree short hair can be more maintenance! Go long hair! and Hurray for the messy bun (my favorite hairstyle)!
long hair I can put it up in a pony tail for days on end so it's less maintenance, but i like short hair better bc/ it's really just a couple of minutes with the curling iron and i look like I've been fixing my hair for hours. it's just easier to look more put together with short hair than long.
