Is it bad to give a short-hair cat the lion cut?

I think my cat will probably like it in the long run, or do cats tend to hate it?Is it bad to give a short-hair cat the lion cut?
Cats only need to be trimmed if they have gotten matted up and it can't be brushed out. A cat's coat offers protection and insulation. Cats body temps adjust to the environment and their fur is the only protection they have.

Leave the kitty alone. It's really mean to do that to them.Is it bad to give a short-hair cat the lion cut?
Glad I could convince you. You made the right decision.

With a short haired cat I wouldn't see the point, their fur isn't long enough. Lion cuts are for cats whose coats matt up bad.
'The only reason to give a cat a lion-cut is if it has some sort of malady (such as morbid obesity) that makes it unable to properly clean itself - resulting in impossibly matted hair which can house pests and cause skin rash etc.

A short-haired cat's hair is not meant to be styled. It is (as people have said) an important past of its skin's defenses.

BTW, Why do you think your cat would like to be mostly bald?
Do not cut your cats hair. They don't like it and it will get very upset. Their hair is very personal to them. If you cut it, it will be..well...let's not even go there.
it is bad to give cats hair cuts period. Cat's hair is a very personal thing to each cat and protects their skin which can easily sun burn and get skin cancer. Do Not Cut Your Cat's Hair ....
