Is there a historical reason as to why men must have short hair while women may keep it long?

My parents and teachers have been annoying me for quite a while about having long hair stating that it's just against societal norms to have long hair and my question to them is always the same, ';Why?';. Does anybody have the answer to that?Is there a historical reason as to why men must have short hair while women may keep it long?
Well actually it says in the Bible that women should have longer hair than men, not that men needed short hair exactly, but shorter than women. And so, as it is with most social norms, it Biblical.





Also, when you get older, you start to see that men look better with short hair and women are more attractive with long hair. And also guys with long hair tend to not have jobs and be losers and your parents want wants best for your success.Is there a historical reason as to why men must have short hair while women may keep it long?
Hate to tell you but your parents and teachers are beign stupid. now im not a fan of long hair, but theirs a bunch of dudes in my school with long hair and a bunch of chicks with short hair and there completley and totally accepted in society. ITs the ';new thing'; keep asking them why and when they dont have the answer except for the societal norm stuff theyll feel stupid and eventually stop bothering you.
