How do you (women) get through the stages of growing out short hair?

What types of styles are great for hiding the awkward stages?



Currently, I am using a headband, and it's working. But once my hair gets longer, it'll look kinda 'school girlish'.



Can you recommend what kinds of touch-up trims are good for growing out short layers?

Go to a salon and ask for their help, or try photobucket and type in the styles you like, I'm currently going through the same process and am regretting cutting off my long hair :(.
