What is the general male preference concerning long vs. short hair?

I know that everyone is different but could someone (preferably a guy) tell me which is best in general (obviously because it depends on the girl and stuff) and give an explanation as well.What is the general male preference concerning long vs. short hair?
I read this in a magazine once: If you're a girl, the length of your hair gives different ';first impressions.';





Short hair = CONFIDENT





Medium/shoulder-length hair = INTELLIGENT





Long hair = SEXY





So I guess it depends on how you'd like to be ';seen.';

What I like best about long hair is the difference created when switching from wearing it up to down, and vice versa.





When I'm used to seeing it down, and then see her with it up, it's sexy to see the back of her bare neck.


When used to seeing it up, and she let's it tumble down with a few good shakes, well... that's just breath-catching sometimes.





But like that Shakespeare dude said, ';To thine own self be true.'; (don't make personal choices based on what you think others will like).
totally depends on the hair also. i love girls with long hair but i prefer it to be pulled up somehow ironically. its just too broad of a question cause like you said, everyone has their preference.
all the men, boys and guys that I know LOVE long hair! My mum always told me not to cut my hair short cause men like long hair.
