Do people with short hair drop more hair than those with long hair?

When I have long hair,I seem to drop less hair than when I have short hair. And I think I read somewhere that people with long hair drop less hair than short people. So is it true? And if so, could it be possible that it is 1 of the reasons guys are more likely to bald than women, because most guys have short hair so they drop more hair?Do people with short hair drop more hair than those with long hair?
It does not matter whether your hair is short or long. We shed off hair about 50 to 100 strands a day.

Natural balding in most men start at around age 50. DHT (dihydrotestosterone) hormones builds up which prevents hair growth. This does not occur in women.
