What is a special hairstyle I can do with my SHORT hair for prom?

I dont want it to look like it always does, but i dont want it to look stupid. I want people to say ';WOW'; on prom night. Crazy goal. :D But Ima try. Any suggestions?What is a special hairstyle I can do with my SHORT hair for prom?
I have short hair and the way i did it for my winter formal dance was a modified version of a hair style i saw in the movie 'Sliding Doors'. Here's some pictures of what I did:

I hate to be one to just endorse someone else's answer, since I believe that's usually like a ';Thanks for the two points'; type of non-answer. But I think in this case I can add to what Kathleen S said. If your hair is like Kathleen's, you should do what she did. She looks incredible with her hairstyle and stunningly beautiful dress. As a guy, I know what kinds of hairstyles get my attention. Kathleen looks like a model in her pictures. If you're tempted to pick me as best answer for endorsing Kathleen's answer, please pick her instead. It would only be right.
