How do you blow dry short hair?

I want to learn how to blow dry short hair. By short i don't mean up to the ear lobes or bobs, i mean like shorter than that but only for women. I don't know how to quiet explain it. But i've seen it on older women preferably which is like raised at the front of the hair and styled back and it's like that through out the whole hair.
